A Statement from our playwright Pravin Wilkins:
In August 2020, rapper/songwriter Akua Naru launched theKEEPERS, an international Black womxn-led collective whose goal is to “build the first comprehensive digital archive… on the artistic work of womxn and girls throughout 5 decades of Hip Hop music & culture.” This is the most recent in a long line of essential projects that Naru has spearheaded, honoring Black revolutionary women who have been the vanguard of progressive movements throughout history. As Naru was one of many women who inspired and informed my writing of Dae, the main character of Bars, it seems only right that this show offers support to theKEEPERS.
All donations to Four Walls Theater support our mission of socially responsible theater through virtual readings. Donations will be directed to improving the operations of the organization. If you would like to donate to the artists of a past show, please note that in your donation. For information on ticketing or donations for our current show, please go to our current production.
